San Jose, Calif., November 8, 2010 — Fairchild Semiconductor, a leading global supplier of high performance power and mobile products, recently received the ‘Supplier of the Year’ award from Grundfos, a global leader in pump solutions and water treatment systems.

"Energy saving pumps is a fast growing market segment due to the increasing energy awareness by consumers, and by new legislation from governments worldwide to reduce carbon emission. In order for Grundfos to continue to be successful in this fast growing market, we rely on suppliers like Fairchild. They were selected for this award due to their high quality and their ability to meet our increasing demands. They supported us with excellent supply chain capabilities along with strong product development,” said Klavs Hornum, Grundfos’ vice president of Sourcing.

“We’re very pleased to have received the ‘Supplier of the Year’ award from Grundfos,” said Ole-Petter Brusdal, Fairchild’s senior vice president, European Sales and Marketing. “Helping our customers like Grundfos to be successful in their market is of utmost important to us. We do this by meeting their increasing demand for products, and by developing the right technology for their next generation of products as well.”

Fairchild provides highly integrated Smart Power Module, solutions for Grundfos’ circulation pump. This pump compiles to the energy-using products directive and has received the "Best energy-efficient circulator" by the EU project. The highly integrated SPM modules offer optimum performance for inverter applications such as low power circulation pumps, fans, air-conditioning, dishwashers, refrigeration and other white goods.

Fairchild supplies solutions for a wide range of motor control applications. Fairchild’s MOSFETs, IGBTs and high voltage rectifiers, combined with the unique packaging, are ideal for motor control applications due to the high efficiency and reliability that can be achieved. Additionally, Fairchild’s robust half-bridge gate drivers and opto-isolated gate drivers provide an excellent link between the power switches and the host controller.

Other Fairchild products for motor control application include PFC controllers, PFC/PWM combo controllers, Green FPS devices, integrated PWM controllers and MOSFETs.
