Light towers and more: Doosan Portable Power was recently honored by DLA Land and Maritime, Columbus, Ohio, as one of the government’s best suppliers at an award ceremony held November 15 at the Defense Supply Center Columbus (Ohio) installation.

Zeke Hendrix, government and strategic accounts sales manager, Doosan Portable Power, accepted the Bronze Recognition for Excellence Award from the DLA Land and Maritime Commander, Navy Rear Adm. David R. Pimpo.

This recognition means the firm has supplied a product the government can be confident in using. Firms that qualify as Automated Best Value System award winners have met the stringent quality and delivery requirements established by the Defense Logistics Agency. The ABVS, a computerized system, collects a vendor¹s past performance data and translates it into a numeric score, ranging from zero to 100.

Doosan Portable Power supplies portable air compressors, mobile generators, light towers and related machine parts for the Department of Defense and other agencies.

To be eligible, vendors must have shipped 50 or more contract line items during a 12-month period. To qualify for a Gold Award, a contractor must have a perfect score of 100. A score of 99 to 99.99 earns a Silver Award, and 98 to 98.9 earns a Bronze Award.

DLA Land and Maritime is the Land and Maritime supply chain headquarters for DLA, with more than 3,000 associates in 53 locations around the world. Land and Maritime manages almost two million spare parts and supports more than 145,000 customers in the military services, civilian agencies and other Department of Defense organizations. Land and Maritime awards more than 707,000 contracts annually, supports nearly 1,400 weapon systems and handles more than 6.7 million orders annually, with annual sales topping $3.1 billion.
