Behind the scenes look at Tulsa, OK power restoration

As many as 100,000 residential and commercial customers in Northeast Oklahoma, including Tulsa, woke up without electric power the morning of July 24. Public Service Co. of Oklahoma, a unit of American Electric Power (AEP), is reporting that it could take crews multiple days to restore power to all customers affected by the blackouts.

A line of severe thunderstorms moved through Northeast Oklahoma, bringing with them winds in excess of 70 miles per hour, snapped power lines and damage to transformers.

AEP-PSO reports some 86,000 customers without power. Oklahoma Gas and Electric (OG&E) said about 14,200 were without power.

Linemen from around the country gather in Tulsa, Okla. to restore power to about 45,000 customers who are without electricity due to July 23 thunderstorm damage.
