Rosatom announced plans to build three new nuclear power units in Russia and one in India in 2014.

According to the Yekaterinburg News, the Russian state-owned utility said it planned for new construction in the Rostov, Sverdlovsk and Voronezh regions for later in 2014; and to complete a second 1,000-MW VVER reactor at India’s Kudankulam nuclear power plant by the end of the year. The first 1,000-MW unit at Kudankulam came online in May.

Russia and India signed a general framework agreement earlier this year for Rosatom to build units 3 and 4 at Kudankulam, the article said.
