Survalent commissions distribution management system for Sumter Electric Membership Corp.

Survalent Technology, provider of smart grid solutions for the control room, commissioned a new advanced distribution management system for Sumter Electric Membership Corporation, South Carolina.

Sumter Electric Membership Corp. is a not-for-profit electric utility that provides energy to more than 20,000 customers in Chattahoochee, Dougherty, Lee, Marion, Quitman, Randolph, Schley, Stewart, Sumter, Terrell and Webster counties.

The new system features Survalent’s open-architecture system based on Windows Server. It includes several of Survalent's open system applications, including:, WorldView, SCADA Explorer, IED Wizard and Control Panel, Command Sequencing, SCADA Add-In, Remote Alarm Annunciation, Event Data Recording, Dynamic Voltage Regulation (DVR), MultiSpeak, Power Factor Control, WebSurv, SurvCentral for Mobile Devices.

“Survalent is pleased that Sumter EMC has selected Survalent to replace their prior system,” states Steve Strauss, VP of Sales for the Eastern US. “Sumter, like many utilities upgrading prior systems, is using a virtualized environment which Survalent is very experienced with. Survalent software tools allow users to easily create database and screen graphics for devices in the field for replacement of existing systems as well as first time SCADA deployments.”
