Eletrobras President José da Costa Carvalho Neto will deliver the 21 October keynote presentation at the co-located events POWER-GEN Brasil, HydroVision Brasil and DistribuTECH Brasil, according to PennWell do Brasil, organizer of the world renowned events. The events will run 21-23 October at the Transamerica Expo Center in São Paulo.

Da Costa, Eletrobras president since 2011, will speak about the challenges and most relevant discussions within the Brazilian electricity sector. He was the chair of the Energy Company of Minas Gerais (Cemig), was a professor at PUC-MG, and in the private sector he worked as CEO of Arcadis Logos Energia and director of Orteng Equipamentos e Sistemas.

POWER-GEN Brasil, HydroVision Brasil and DistribuTECH Brasil also won the support of the Government of São Paulo and the São Paulo state energy secretary, which will ensure information sharing and knowledge exchange among professionals in the energy sector. The events will include some 30 conference sessions, each with presentations by utility, academic, corporate and government experts from countries with specific electricity niches.

Among the associations supporting POWER-GEN Brasil, HydroVision Brasil and DistribuTECH Brasil are ABCE ABRACE, ABRADEE, ABRAGEL, ABRAGET, ABRATE CERPCH, CEISE and SME.

PennWell do Brasil is eager to work with the people and companies that support the events, said Stuart Graham, of PennWell do Brasil.

"We are very happy with all the support we have been receiving and with the participation of representatives from important companies of the sector, such as Eletrobras,” Graham said. “PennWell's main objective is to provide discussions that point solutions to problems Brazil is facing, so to have the support from qualified and recognized professionals is gratifying for us."
