National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) President Colette D. Honorable of Arkansas issued the following statement after the Senate approved Cheryl LaFleur and Norman Bay to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission:

“On behalf of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, we congratulate Acting Chair Cheryl LaFleur and Commissioner Norman Bay on their confirmation to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Acting Chair LaFleur has been an active participant in NARUC meetings since she first joined the commission in 2010. We look forward to a continued strong relationship with her going forward. We also welcome Commissioner Bay to his new post. A strong federal-State partnership is essential to maintaining the safe, reliable, and affordable delivery of utility services. We both have our unique responsibilities but at the end of the day we serve the same consumers. This is an exciting time within the utility industry and we are excited to work with Acting Chair LaFleur, Commissioner Bay, and Commissioners Philip Moeller, John Norris, and Tony Clark.”
