Elster AMCO Water, Inc., part of the Elster Group, the world's leading manufacturer and supplier of highly accurate, high quality, integrated metering and utilization solutions, announces the promotion of Bruce Bharat to director of marketing.

Based in Ocala, Florida, and reporting directly to Roman Thomassin, president of Elster AMCO Water, Mr. Bharat will lead Elster AMCO Water's marketing division, serving a critical role in supporting Elster AMCO Water's position as a global market leader in solution-based products and services.

"Bruce will manage the strategic marketing direction for the Elster AMCO Water businesses in North America," explained Thomassin, "and will be a key driver in delivering Elster AMCO Water's world class products and services, especially its AMI solutions, to the water utility industry."

An engineer with a keen sense for marketing, Mr. Bharat was product marketing manager for AMR/AMI prior to this promotion. As director of marketing, he leads the market implementation of evolution™ AMI, Elster AMCO Water's solutions-based system for the water utility industry.

"The evolution AMI system was developed to address the water industry's growing demand for a complete, end-to-end utility-wide solution, and isreshaping the industry's view of water AMR," explained Mr. Bharat. "Water utilities are now able to leverage evolution's enhanced features to generate customer water usage data with in-home user displays that provide a real-time picture of consumers' water consumption, as well as have the ability to remotely decrease water pressure or close water flow without having to deploy field personnel."

Mr. Bharat holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Miami and his professional experience is in customer quality, operations, marketing, product management and design engineering with specialization in radio communications.
