Handheld today announced their expansion into the US market with a new subsidiary, HHCS Handheld USA, Inc. (Handheld US). The company is located in Corvallis, Oregon and will be led by President & CEO Dale Kyle. Kyle most recently was the rugged handheld product manager for Tripod Data Systems (TDS).

"The growth of rugged computing in the US is strong as companies expand the use of computers outside traditional office environments. These companies are increasingly seeing the need for rugged computers for their workforce," said Kyle. "By offering a wide range of quality rugged products and partnering with key value-added resellers, we can offer winning solutions for enterprises deploying a mobile workforce."

Handheld US is offering rugged PDAs, handhelds and tablet computers including the TDS Nomad, Recon and Ranger handheld computers as well as the Handheld Algiz 8 tablet computer and M3 Mobile PDA.

In addition to Kyle, Handheld has recruited Mike Zelman as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Handheld US. Zelman currently serves as the Vice President of Marketing for Merix Corporation and has a long history in technology companies including Agilent Technologies, Tripod Data Systems, and Flextronics.
