Optimal Technologies CEO to Present at 2008 IEEE Event

Optimal Technologies International Inc., a leading developer of technologies to optimize power grid systems and complete building automation platforms, today announced that its CEO Roland Schoettle is speaking at the annual 2008 IEEE PES in Chicago, Illinois on Thursday, April 24.

With the theme of "Powering Toward the Future," the IEEE Transmission and Distribution Conference and Exposition brings together power-delivery professionals with many different areas of specialization, including transmission and distribution planning, protection and control, engineering, distribution automation, communications, renewable energy, technology, operations, and maintenance. The event offers a variety of sessions including tutorials, panels, workshops and keynotes.

Highlighting his experience in the energy industry, Schoettle will be speaking on a technical thought-leader panel titled, "Rethinking Transmission & Distribution Architecture for Distributed Energy Resources." Schoettle will specifically address the idea of modeling the grid for distributed energy resources in the future and the steps necessary to achieve a high-functioning power grid that efficiently utilizes various sources of energy. This session will take place at Chicago's McCormick Place on Thursday, April 24, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. local time.

"Power grids can efficiently leverage different sources of power in ways that have yet to be implemented," said Schoettle, CEO of Optimal Technologies. "As the leading developer of power grid system analysis and optimization technologies and the only developer of grid improvement ranking technology, we bring a unique and forward-thinking perspective of how to maximize the efficient use of distributed energy resources. We welcome the opportunity to highlight our perspective at this well-respected event, where we can interact with key influencers in the industry."

Roland Schoettle is the founder and CEO of Optimal Technologies. Schoettle's current leadership role at Optimal is supported by his background in technology and engineering along with over 30 years of business development experience. Prior to launching Optimal Technologies, he founded and successfully led several technology-based companies.

Optimal's participation in IEEE follows $25M in recent funding from Goldman Sachs International. Through the financial backing Optimal Technologies is accelerating its growth and expanding its market presence. The company recently opened a new U.S. headquarters in Downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. Optimal's mission is to make it easy for utilities, businesses and consumers to analyze and manage energy infrastructures from production to output for complete optimization and efficiency. Optimal's products will be available globally and will contribute to efforts to eliminate blackouts, dramatically reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve third world economies by ensuring efficient power management.
