School children in Los Angeles will be beneficiaries of a donated solar electric system courtesy of FOX, American Idol www.americanidol.com and Solar 4R Schools www.solar4rschools.org, an educational program of the non-profit Bonneville Environmental Foundation, www.b-e-f.org.

For this seasons eco-friendly "American Idol" finale on Wednesday, May 21 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), FOX has brought together various partners who will provide renewable energy for the theater and media areas. The partnerships will help FOX reduce "American Idol's" impact on the world's climate and help the network reach its goal of becoming carbon-neutral by 2010. The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power will provide a combination of solar, wind and hydropower energy for the season finale held at the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE. In addition, E-Village www.evillagesolar.com, will provide supplemental solar power in the media arrivals area. After the finale, E-Village will donate and install the 2.3- kilowatt solar electric system to the Camino Nuevo Charter Academy to be used with educational curriculum provided by the Solar 4R Schools program.
