Elster and Milsoft Utility Solutions Certify MultiSpeak® Version 3.0 Interoperability
Elster, the global leader in smart metering and smart grid system solutions, announces that it has successfully completed version 3.0 MultiSpeak interoperability assertion testing for its EnergyAxis AMI system. MultiSpeak 3.0 interoperability testing enables utilities to more easily create interfaces between Elster's EnergyAxis System and MultiSpeak 3.0 compatible outage management systems (OMS).
Sharon Allan, president of Elster Integrated Solutions stated, "Compliance to the MultiSpeak Initiative affirms Elster's continuing commitment to delivering open, standards?based smart metering technology Added value capabilities such as MultiSpeak compliance is just one of the reasons the EnergyAxis System is the most widely deployed AMI solution in the world."
The MultiSpeak Initiative is a collaboration of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA), and more than 40 leading companies supplying software solutions to utility market. The Initiative has defined standardized interfaces among software products commonly used by utilities. The standardized interface helps drive application interoperability and eliminate the expense and time otherwise needed to develop custom interfaces.
Originally targeted at small electric utilities, the MultiSpeak effort has expanded to include a broad range of applications for electric utilities of all sizes, as well as for those that supply water and gas services.
Victor Sitton, vice president of product marketing for Elster Integrated Solutions, commented, "Utilities with the EnergyAxis System can now quickly integrate with MultiSpeak-compliant OMS applications without extensive or costly development. This achievement reinforces Elster's ability to deliver robust and cost effective AMI and outage management solutions to the utility industry."
