Ditch Witch 250R/T Locating System Released
Ditch Witch

The Ditch Witch organization announces the release of its new 250R/T locating system. The 250R/T is an efficient and cost-effective method for locating and avoiding buried telephone, CATV, power, gas, and water lines. Consisting of a 250T transmitter and 250R receiver, this simple, lightweight system features intuitive controls, an easy-to-read display, and depth estimation up to 15’.

The dynamic range of the 250R/T is the best in its class, so it can locate even when signals are either very weak or very strong. Tones are derived from the actual signals radiating from pipes or cables, making it easy for even novice users to distinguish the signal from background noise. The display is backlit and reinforced with a scratch-resistant coating for optimal visibility day and night.

The 250T can apply 33-kHz signals via direct connect, induction clamp, or other optional accessories. It has two-thirds fewer components than similar models, meaning fewer chances of mechanical or electrical interruption. Further minimizing downtime is the system’s rugged design and moisture-resistant cases that stand up to long-term use and tough weather conditions.

Light and Power in One Tower
Doosan Infracore Portable Power

Doosan Infracore Portable Power introduces the Ingersoll Rand L20, a combination light tower and mobile generator.

The L20’s 32-hp Mitsubishi diesel engine and 20 kw generator make it a flexible and powerful light tower with enough power to light a wide area while simultaneously providing up to 16 kw of energy.

The L20’s lighting system consists of four 1,000-watt metal halide lamps mounted to a telescoping mast, featuring 360º rotation and extension from 12’ to 30’. The 20-kw generator powers the lighting system and provides power to a generous array of receptacles, delivering up to 63 amps at 240 volts and 126 amps at 120 volts. When the lighting system is not in use, the generator can output up to 80 amps at 240 volts and 160 amps at 120 volts.

The L20’s easy to use control system features auto start / stop capability as standard. Optional on the L20 is the innovative AutoLamp system.

The L20’s enclosure is built with rugged components designed to withstand the abuse of construction applications, and the front panel is coated with a rubberized material.

A standard 27-gal fuel tank provides 69 hours of continuous light source operation or 12.5 hours of runtime at 100% load. An optional 50-gal tank can extend operation of the L20 to 138 hours of lighting only or 25 hours at full load.

QTR-Turn NM Cable Stripper/Cutter
Klein Tools

Klein Tools recently added its new QTR-Turn NM cable stripper/cutter (Cat. No. K1412-3) with Klein-Kurve handles to its existing line of strippers and cutters. The QTR-Turn cable stripper/cutter quickly and easily removes the outer jacket of non-metallic (NM) cable.

The new cable stripper/cutter utilizes exclusive QTR-Turn technology to quickly remove the outer jacket of NM cable. The user places the cable in the upper QTR-Turn jacket stripper, squeezes the handle and turns one quarter (90 degrees) to completely sever the outer jacket. The QTR-Turn NM cable stripper/cutter has spring-loaded action for self-opening.

Klein Tools’ new multi-functional stripper/cutter strips, cuts and loops 12 and 14 AWG solid wire, and cleanly shears 6-32 and 8-32 screws. A serrated nose bends, shapes and pulls wire. Klein-Kurve handles provide users with a firm grip for better leverage, and offer greater control and comfort.

The “REEL” Easy Way to Handle Wire
JDV Products, Inc.

The new JDV ReelCaddy (models RC01S and RC01L) effortlessly transports buried or aerial service wire from service vehicle to work location. It handles and dispenses any type of cable reel with I.D. holes of 1-¼” or larger, up to 23” in diameter, up to 30” in height, and not exceeding 300 lbs.

Now, with JDV’s ReelCaddy, the technician has the mobility and versatility to wheel the ReelCaddy right up to the application, dispense and cut the exact amount of cable needed without wasting expensive cable.

By using the ReelCaddy’s special loading technique, operators can prevent back strain or injury when loading heavy cable reels. The RC01S and RC01L allow the operator to slide the spool rod through the I.D. of the cable reel, place their foot on the foot pad for a secure grip, and use the spool rod as a “lever” to lift the ReelCaddy in an upright position. Finally, the operator attaches the “T”-handle and the ReelCaddy is ready to go to work.

The ReelCaddy’s box beam design is constructed out of 11-gauge steel for strength and durability and both models come standard with a removable T-handle, 8” premium sealed bearing wheels, foot grip and an optional brake (RCB1) is available for preventing backlash.
