I’m Baaaaack!

As some of you may know, I welcomed a new arrival (a beautiful baby boy — and no, I’m not even prejudice!) to my family in June and have been out of the office.

As some of you may know, I welcomed a new arrival (a beautiful baby boy — and no, I’m not even prejudice!) to my family in June and have been out of the office. Well, I’m back! (Please, hold your applause until later.) While I may not have physically been in the office, I still had a hand in this issue and I think that you will be pleased with what lies in the pages ahead. In this issue we are covering customer service issues, AMR/AMI, transmission & distribution, and substation management & maintenance.

In the past month a great deal of progress has also been made towards selecting which conferences will be offered at the Utility Products Conference & Expo (UPCE) that will be held in San Diego in February. Be sure to check out the website at www.utilityproductsexpo.com to view the Conference Session Grid, and of course to register to attend the show. The Housing Form is included on the website as well to make things easier for planning. If you require further information on the show after visiting the website, simply click on ‘Request Information’ and we’ll be happy to tell you all you need to know. We don’t want you to miss this show!

Cheers,

Thinking of a Green Future? Think NECA 2008 Chicago

Every day, owners and facility managers are learning more about improving the energy efficiency of their buildings—shouldn’t you?

For the latest in alternative energy and energy-efficient technology, industry leaders know that NECA’s annual convention and trade show in Chicago, Oct. 4-7, brings everything they need together at one event. The 2008 program is packed with hands-on demonstrations, management seminars and networking opportunities with project partners, including the manufacturers, distributors and business services contractors rely on.

“Attending the NECA Convention and Show is the most efficient way for our staff to get the training and make the contacts we need,” said Kevin Connelly, Connelly Electric Co., Addison, Ill.

So whether you’re running an established company or just getting started, NECA 2008 Chicago is the industry event that professional electrical contractors can’t afford to miss.
