New Exhibit Pavilions, Co-located Industry Events Broaden Scope

Attendees at the 2009 International Construction and Utility Equipment Exposition (ICUEE) will find a wider variety than ever before of the latest equipment and technologies to help them get the most out of their operating budgets.

The pace of exhibit space sales is running ahead of the last show, held in 2007, with more than 480 exhibitors taking more than one million net square feet of space. New exhibit pavilions will be featured, as well as a "new products program."

Leading industry events have chosen to co-locate with ICUEE 2009, offering attendees more educational, networking and exhibit opportunities in one place.

ICUEE 2009 will be held October 6-8, 2009 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Kentucky. ICUEE is known as The Demo Expo, where attendees can operate the equipment themselves in job-like conditions, for the ultimate in product comparisons.

"ICUEE 2009 is a must-attend event if you want to keep up-to-date on the products and industry trends that will position your business through the market downturn into the recovery," stated ICUEE Show Director Melissa Magestro.

"AEM actively seeks out industry partnerships at ICUEE and all its shows. They save time and money for all participants and provide invaluable industry knowledge-sharing opportunities."

ICUEE is geared to the utility/construction industry, with a primary focus on the electric, phone/cable, sewer/water, gas, general construction, landscaping and public works sectors.

The 2009 ICUEE will take over the outdoor lots of the convention center and has expanded indoors with "class A" exhibit space in the center's new North Hall in addition to the South Hall.

Hands-on equipment demonstrations of underground, at ground and aerial equipment include a "ride and drive" program for on-road commercial trucks. An extensive ICUEE education program complements the exhibits.

More Exhibits and Education Increase ICUEE's Value Quotient

ICUEE 2009 attendees can take advantage of the co-located H2O-XPO exhibition, an inaugural event from the National Rural Water Association (NRWA), targeting water and wastewater utility equipment and products. NRWA will hold its annual conference in conjunction with ICUEE and H2O-XPO 2009.

Also new for ICUEE in 2009 is the iP Safety Conference and related Safety Zone exhibit pavilion. The conference is aimed at safety, training and operations professionals in the utility and communications sector, with seminar tracks in safety management, worksite safety, transitional workforce, and equipment safety.

The iP Safety Zone will showcase safety and training products and services related to fall protection, confined-space protection, trenching, aerial equipment, and rescue training.

Another new co-location at ICUEE in 2009 is a conference and exhibit pavilion focused on components for the industrial vehicle and mobile equipment markets.

Industrial Utility Vehicle and Mobile Equipment (IUV) will co-locate its 2009 Technology Conference during ICUEE, with sessions geared toward product design, engineering, technical and management professionals. An IUV Industrial Components/Technology exhibit pavilion will feature industrial attachments, accessories, components and special purpose vehicles.

Trade Shows Offer Increased ROI

Trade shows are a convenient way for attendees to visit directly with so many manufacturers showing new products, to talk with industry experts and make informed purchasing decisions, notes AEM's Magestro.

At the last edition of the biennial ICUEE, held in 2007, some 95 percent of exhibitors say they met their goal of introducing new products and/or services to attendees.

Almost 80 percent of the 2007 attendees had a role in purchasing equipment for their company, and more than three-quarters of attendees said they would not have made the same purchasing decision if they had not gone to ICUEE.

"We know trade shows are very cost-effective, and AEM's industry-led shows result in the most return on investment. Our host city of Louisville is also very affordable; in addition to an international airport with almost 100 flights daily, the city is also easily accessible by car for much of the U.S.," she added.
