Michael Vesca, vice president of Competitive Power Ventures Inc., was in Johnstown Thursday telling media members, local businesses and people who live next to the plant about the plants.
Vesca says the company wants to start building the power plant in 2017 and have it up and running by the end of 2019.
He says about 500 construction jobs would be created during that 30-month window and that the plant would employ about 100 people once it opened. That would include 25 workers running the plant and 75 who would maintain the property, grounds and add other support.
The proposed site is in Jackson Township, near Vinco, about 65 miles east of Pittsburgh, and about 10 miles north of Johnstown.
