BP will not sell off its U.S.-based wind energy portfolio

The company confirmed that it did receive bids for its U.S.-based wind power projects, but added that now is not the right time to sell

BP is no longer interested in selling its U.S. wind energy portfolio, according to reports. The British multinational expressed an interest in a wind power sell-off in April 2013.

The company confirmed that it did receive bids for its U.S.-based wind power projects, but added that now is not the right time to sell.

BP unit BP Alternative Energy North America Inc. had previously said it was marketing its wind portfolio in order to focus on its oil and gas holdings, according to the Power Engineering.

After the announcement, the U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) approved the Mohave County Wind Farm, an Arizona wind power project proposed by BP Wind Energy North America with a capacity of up to 500 MW.
