The company intends to develop the solar power project on a 120-acre plot of land near a waste management and recycling plant in the village of Parley

U.K. renewable energy developer British Solar Renewables said it had been granted planning permission to build a 20 MW solar energy park in Dorset, South West England.

The company intends to develop the solar power project on a 120-acre plot of land near a waste management and recycling plant in the village of Parley. The solar modules will be mounted on special structures at a height of 9.5 feet.

When up and running the solar installation would generate enough electricity to meet the demand of about 5,000 average homes, the developer calculates.

British Solar Renewables did not specify when it would launch the construction and when it would be completed. The company said its had developed a long-term plan to preserve the surrounding environment by lowering visual impact and keeping biodiversity.
