Toronto, Ontario, September 26, 2011 — Pattern Energy Group LP and Samsung Renewable Energy announced the completion of an expanded agreement with Siemens to supply turbines for four wind energy projects totaling 870 MW.
Up to 600 jobs will be created from CS Wind's tower and Siemens' blade factories in Windsor and Tillsonburg, respectively. Together, the four projects which will provide enough clean energy to power more than 300,000 local homes in Ontario each year.
· 270 MW South Kent Wind project in the Regional Municipality of Chatham-Kent
· 270 MW K2 Wind project in the Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh
Samsung and its partners have committed to bring $7 billion in investment to Ontario to create 2,500 MW of new renewable energy sources. This investment is helping to establish four manufacturing facilities in Ontario, creating 900 new manufacturing jobs and 16,000 jobs overall in Ontario's Green Economy. These initiatives are a direct result of Samsung's Green Energy Investment Agreement with the government of Ontario.
