Baltimore, June 7, 2011 — Constellation Energy terminated an agreement to sell the 550-MW Quail Run natural gas plant in West Texas to High Plains Diversified Energy Corp. The agreement was first announced in December.
In addition to being a modern, efficient, well-managed asset, Quail Run will provide energy to support customers in Texas, including those served by StarTex Power, a Houston retail electricity provider recently acquired by Constellation Energy.
Constellation Energy is a competitive supplier of power, natural gas and energy products and services for homes and businesses across the continental U.S.
It owns a diversified fleet of generating units, totaling about 12,000 MW of generating capacity, and is a leading advocate for clean, environmentally sustainable energy sources, such as solar power and nuclear energy.
