Tulsa, Okla., October 25, 2011 — Executives from some of the world's most powerful electric utilities will meet Jan. 22 and 23 in San Antonio to discuss the effects of new technology, consumer acceptance and the global economy on their smart grid business decisions.
Keynote speakers for the third annual Electric Light & Power Executive Conference will be economist Todd Buchholz and former Energy Secretary Bill Richardson.
"The executive conference translates the most anticipated topics from North America's leading T&D show, DistribuTECH, into business language for utility executives and vice presidents," said Teresa Hansen, chairwoman of both conferences and editor in chief of Electric Light & Power and POWERGRID International magazines. "We're especially excited to hear our keynotes. Todd Buchholz led the Bush administration's White House Energy Strategy, and Bill Richardson has done just about everything—he's a former energy secretary, New Mexico governor, U.N. ambassador and U.S. congressman, and he ran for president in 2008."
In addition to the keynotes, four sessions will share lessons learned:
* How to Select and Finance Smart Grid Distribution Technology
Presenters detailing their smart grid experiences are from Public Service Electric & Gas, PHI Power Delivery, Duke Energy Corp., Deloitte, Alstom Grid, OGE Energy Corp., CenterPoint Energy, Pecan Street Project, Southern California Edison and others.
Attendance at the Electric Light & Power Executive Conference is limited to provide optimum interaction among attendees, presenters and keynote speakers. Attendees are welcome to VIP seating during the DistribuTECH Conference & Exhibition keynote featuring actor and economist Ben Stein.
