Mike Rencheck will serve as an ambassador for a two-year term, which will run through 2015

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) recently selected Mike Rencheck, Areva Inc. president and CEO, to serve as one of the department’s ambassadors for the Minorities in Energy Initiative. Rencheck will serve as an ambassador for a two-year term, which will run through 2015.

“At Areva, we are dedicated to developing the next generation of energy industry leaders, and I am honored to serve as an ambassador for this important initiative,” said Rencheck. “It is through partnerships such as this that we will build the highly skilled workforce that is vital to our clean energy future.”

As an ambassador, Rencheck will serve as an advocate for expanding the role of minorities in the energy sector, including raising awareness of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education; creating better partnerships between students and industry professionals; and improving energy literacy.
