Net energy delivered to Uruguay's SIN grid totaled 826 GWh in September, down from 852 GWh in the same month last year.

Demand peaked at 1.59 GW on September 2 at 8:13 p.m., according to the latest monthly report from state power market administrator Adme, down from 1.79 GW.

Maximum daily demand was recorded on September 2 at 30.2 GWh, down from 33.8 GWh. Energy exports totaled 20.7 GWh.

Heavy precipitation boosted hydro output, allowing Uruguay to export energy to Argentina during four of the month's five weeks.

Of the net energy total, 85.5 percent came from hydropower, followed by wind power (8.7 percent) and biomass (5 percent). These percentages compared to 70.7 percent, 1.7 percent and 2.8 percent, respectively, a year ago.

Thermo's contribution was 0.7 percent in September, compared to 24.7 percent in the same month last year.
