Wind power project goes online in Mexico

The first wind farm in the western Mexican state of Jalisco is now operational, according to project developers. The wind farm has 28, 1.8 MW turbines.
The $105 million renewable energy facility was built on funds provided by the Dragon company and Grupo Salinas.
Mexico wants to expand generation capacity over the next 15 years, building power plants with a total generating capacity of about 55,000 MW.
