EDF Renewable Energy Flips Switch On Kansas Wind Farm

EDF Energies Nouvelles is the renewable energy arm of French utility EDF

October 26, 2012 — EDF Renewable Energy, formerly enXco and part of French EDF Energies Nouvelles, officially put online its 100.8-MW wind farm in Kansas.

The Spearville 3 wind farm, which has started producing power earlier this month, includes 63 wind turbines from GE and will generate enough power to supply some 40,000 households, EDF Renewable Energy calculates. EDF Renewable Services will operate and maintain the facility.

Utility Kansas City Power & Light will buy the output of the wind farm under a 20-year power purchase agreement.
