New Haven-based United Illuminating and Connecticut's largest utility CL&P both offer programs to assist their customers who want to install distributed renewable energy capacity at their homes or businesses. UI offers inverter-based interconnections for devices from 10 kW or less or 10 kW to 20 kW. The utilities also participate in CTCleanEnergyOptions program, which allows customers the opportunity to support clean energy made from approved renewable resources such as wind, solar and biomass.
