Steril-KONI Announces Strategic Acquisition of ALM Corporation and Fleet America Service Technology Corporation
New product offerings and production facilities to positively impact continued growth
On July 1, 2008, Stertil-KONI USA's parent company, Stertil B.V., acquired ALM Corporation based in Streator, Illinois. ALM, a 23-year-old manufacturer of lifts has been noted for quality manufacturing. ALM's acquisition fulfills Stertil-KONI's goal of establishing a world-class
manufacturing presence in the United States and a platform from which to supply the increasing global demand for the company's full range of heavy-duty lift products. Over the next six to eight months, the Streator facility will begin manufacturing Stertil-KONI's flagship product— the ST 1082 mobile column lift (rated at 18,000 lbs. per column).
Habitat Orlando recently broke ground on its biggest homebuilding effort to date: Staghorn Villas, an $8 million townhome community that will provide affordable housing for 58 local families. Representatives from the Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) announced that they are donating $60,000 in energy-efficient features for the community. In addition, Siemens has currently pledged $30,000.
