Florida International University demonstrates national leadership, vision for campus sustainability

Energy efficiency improvements with Johnson Controls spans 15 years and saves millions

FIU became Florida's first higher education institution to capitalize on enabling performance contract legislation that encouraged organizations to adopt energy efficiency savings goals for existing public buildings. The university selected Johnson Controls, a global, multi-industrial leader in energy efficiency, to implement improvements, and today continues to demonstrate its visionary leadership and commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency through ongoing efforts.

Ice Energy, the leading provider of distributed energy storage and smart grid solutions for optimizing energy system efficiency, today announced the expansion of its National Accounts program. Moving from demonstration to deployment, the program offers a select group of companies the opportunity to benefit from fully funded utility programs that will underwrite the cost and installation of Ice Energy's Ice Bear® energy storage systems on buildings nationwide.
