Commerce and USDA Officials to Hold National Broadband Forum in Birmingham

WASHINGTON – On Tuesday, July 14, the Department of Commerce's National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) and the Department of Agriculture's Rural Utilities Service (RUS) will hold one of ten nationwide public broadband grant and loan workshops in Birmingham, Ala.

SCHAUMBURG, ILL. – July 13, 2009 – Motorola, Inc. (NYSE:MOT) today announced a $2.9 million contract with the Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC – The Reliable One) to provide a suite of dispatch consoles, control stations and portable and mobile radios for a new radio system utilizing Orange County's existing Motorola Smartzone™ interoperable network. By using the existing county network infrastructure, OUC, one of Florida's largest municipal utilities, will reduce costs while improving communications with a fully interoperable system.
