Johnson Controls helps East Hartford, Conn. realize city- and school-wide energy savings

Johnson Controls, Inc. and the Town and Schools of East Hartford, Conn. announce that the 18-month installation of energy efficiency measures is complete.

"The Board of Education and Town Council used a procurement process called performance contracting to make this project possible," said Mayor Melody Currey, who initiated the process. "Johnson Controls introduced a financing vehicle that allows us to upgrade our buildings using energy savings, where the savings must cover the cost of the project. Therefore, there is no tax impact on homeowners which is so important especially during tough economic times."

Case Construction Equipment has announced the upgrade of its largest excavator – the CX800B – to its B Series line of excavators. The new CX800B features increases in fuel efficiency and productivity, as well as improved operator comfort and ease of maintenance.
