Building on its reputation for delivering innovative ideas to its customers, POWER-GEN International went all digital September 12, 2007 in the first annual POWER-GEN International Online exhibition and conference. Produced three months ahead of the live PGI (the world's largest exhibition for the power generation industry, taking place this year in New Orleans from December 10-13), POWER-GEN International Online offered virtual exhibitors an outstanding opportunity to showcase their products and services to an international online audience that included many prospective customers. Nearly 900 individuals registered in advance for the online event, which included a Keynote Session, conference paper sessions and an interactive exhibit hall that featured company brochures, video, giveaways and a live chat room where visitors asked questions of exhibiting company representatives. On the day of the live show, exhibitors tallied almost 2,600 booth visits, a clear indication that registrants were visiting more than just one of the featured exhibitors. On average, attendees spent eight minutes visiting each virtual booth. While in the booth visitors downloaded files, asked questions, registered for prize giveaways, requested additional information and responded to poll questions.
