Ambient to demonstrate communications architecture at DistribuTECH
The demonstration is the result of collaborative effort between six hardware, software and services companies led by Duke Energy
This week, at DistribuTECH, Ambient Corp. will participate in a multi-booth demonstration that presents a cost-effective, field-tested, interoperability solution to link siloed assets and enable local data sharing for more effective and efficient grid management. The demonstration is the result of collaborative effort between six hardware, software and services companies led by Duke Energy.
Ambient and the Coalition of the Willing (COW) group — Accenture, Alstom Grid, Duke Energy, Echelon, S&C Electric and Verizon — have developed and field tested a demonstration project around voltage management assets to show how interoperable hardware, software and systems from multiple suppliers can be used to build a distributed-intelligence platform that eliminates silos, improves grid performance, enables interoperability between grid assets, reduces costs and increases security.
Ambient Corp. representatives will be available in booth #324 to present a hands-on look at the operational performance gains and financial benefits that may be achieved when silo-ed information and device data can be shared locally, as well as explain the company's flexible approach to grid communications for distributed intelligence.
Hear Jason Handley, Technology Development Manager, Duke Energy present the Coalition of the Willing Project and explain the performance benefits and cost savings that Duke Energy recorded in the field at its McAlpine Creek project using an open-source, standards-based field message bus to create interoperability and provide support for distributed applications.
The demonstration is available daily from January 28 to 30, 2014. The presentation takes place on Wednesday, January 29, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Booth #324 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center San Antonio, Texas.
In addition, the following Coalition of the Willing partners will participate in the demonstration at DistribuTECH: Accenture (Booth # 1049), Alstom Grid (Booth #1818), S&C Electric (Booth #1347)
