G&W Electric debuts Trident-SR with SafeVu during DistribuTECH 2018
New solid-dielectric, magnetically actuated switch available for shipment by mid-2018
G&W Electric, Inc. has recently announced the debut of their new 15kV Trident-SR with SafeVu solid-dielectric switch at DistribuTECH 2018.
While on display at the show, attendees can enter booth 1943 to observe the only solid-dielectric magnetically actuated switch on the market with an integral visible break for underground circuits. The new, state-of-the-art addition to the Trident product line will be available for purchase in the first quarter of 2018.
As the latest innovation in solid-dielectric technology, G&W’s Trident-SR with SafeVu pairs both a field-proven, magnetic actuated switch with an integral visible break to manage customer compliance needs, including regulation, maintenance and safety. The Trident-SR magnetic actuating technology works to improve system speed and reliability with less moving pieces and higher operational life-cycles, a huge benefit for critical source transfer applications. Parallel, the switch’s SafeVu integral visible break contains no oil or gas and is completely maintenance free, saving utilities both time and money.

The latest switch is capable of integration with any choice of relay and is compatible with integral current and voltage sensors. A variety of switch pairing applications include 10-cycle automatic transfer systems, underground remote automated switches and distribution automation systems.
