LOCWELD appoints new executive team

As electrical transmission industry moves forward, LOCWELD announces new team to lead company forward.

Candiac, QC—As we are all witnesses, the electrical transmission industry is going through many changes moving forward. In parallel, LOCWELD is in a very dynamic period of change as well. It is with great pleasure we announce LOCWELD’s newly appointed Executive Team that will lead the company into the future: Michael G. Cyr as President & CEO, Maurice Brunet as Executive Vice President - Operations and Terry Gilliland as Executive Vice President – Supply Chain.

Along with Maurice Brunet, Terry Gilliland will lead up our supply chain and IT group. Terry brings great experience to the team. His focus will be on maximizing efficiencies throughout the organization. Prior to taking on the position of President & CEO, Michael spent over 14 years developing its’ client base. He has been a key asset to the company … overseeing all Sales & Marketing initiatives for many years as both Director of Sales/Marketing & later as VP Sales/Marketing … successfully opening the doors & gaining strong market share in the US in particular. Due to his efforts and keen business sense, Mr. Cyr has moved forward into his new role with great confidence and vision. Michael has an Executive MBA from The John Molson School of Business.

Maurice Brunet has been with LOCWELD for more than 20 years and has played a key role as Contract Administrator, Quality Control/Assurance Lead, as well as being recognized throughout the industry as a reputable tower design engineer. Along with Michael, Mr. Brunet has been newly appointed to Executive Vice President of Operations and will oversee all related production components. Mr. Brunet has a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Sherbrooke University, is an active member in the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec, and is a Certified Engineer in Ontario as well.

Terry has been with the company for over 15 years and was instrumental in implementing many IT programs and production frameworks throughout his career as IT Director. Taking his invaluable knowledge moving forward, Terry has been newly appointed to Executive Vice President – Supply Chain Logistics. Along with his current IT Team and all LOCWELD employees, Terry’s focus will be on streamlining all aspects of each business unit, ensuring the utmost in project efficiencies and targeting subsequent growth. Terry has an Executive MBA from the John Molson School of Business.

This is a very exciting time for LOCWELD on many levels, one of which is the launch of our 65th year in the business of design, detailing, fabrication & galvanizing of steel lattice transmission towers, poles and substations.
