Powerline maintenance and construction company expands
T&D Solutions expands with acquisition of E&R Inc., a provider of utility distribution, transmission and substation construction.
Alexandria, La., November 18, 2010—T&D Solutions, a powerline maintenance and construction company, has announced that it has acquired E&R Inc., a Kinston, N.C.-based provider of utility distribution, transmission, and substation construction and maintenance services. Terms of the private transaction were not disclosed.
E&R has been in operation since 1968 and has deep relationships with key investor owned utilities, co-ops, and government entities in its region. With the addition of E&R, T&D Solutions will operate over 125 powerline crews in over 10 states throughout Texas, the Southeast and the East Coast.
“We anticipate significant investment in transmission line construction in the regions we serve over the next five years, as well as a continuing trend of outsourcing by utilities,” said Chad Dubea, CEO of T&D Solutions. “The acquisition of E&R ensures that we will be able to comfortably meet this demand while maintaining our high standards for quality and safety.”
This is the second acquisition for T&D Solutions following a strategic investment in January from Huntsman Gay Global Capital, a leading middle market private equity firm based in Palo Alto, Calif.
“This acquisition demonstrates our confidence in T&D Solutions and its management team,” said Ryan Stratton, Principal at Huntsman Gay. “E&R’s high-quality employees and productivity-based culture are a great fit with T&D, and its longstanding customer relationships will strengthen T&D Solutions’ brand presence from Texas to the East Coast.”
