Utility linemen: Honoring all Utility Workers on National Lineworker Appreciation Day
Lineman safety: Recognizing the tireless work of ComEd field workers that provide safe and reliable energy service every day.
Utility safety: In celebration of National Lineworker Appreciation Day, ComEd salutes the men and women who work tirelessly to provide safe and reliable energy to our customers and community.
ComEd celebrates those who work in the field, substations, underground and overhead, and in other areas of our smart grid. Our employees are in the field 24 hours a day, seven days a week, often in challenging conditions, and on holidays to power our customers’ lives.
“We are proud of the men and women who work tirelessly in the field, often as first responders, to bring safe and reliable energy to our customers,” said Terry Donnelly, ComEd executive vice president and chief operating officer. “We appreciate their faithful service and commitment to our customers, no matter what challenges they may face.”
To honor the nation’s lineworkers, a resolution was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives designating July 10, 2017, as National Lineworker Appreciation Day. ComEd joins utility companies, including Exelon sister utilities Atlantic City Electric, BGE, Delmarva Power, PECO and Pepco, in honoring all utility workers – both on the lines and in the field.
Commonwealth Edison Company (ComEd) is a unit of Chicago-based Exelon Corporation (NYSE: EXC), the nation’s leading competitive energy provider, with approximately 10 million customers. ComEd provides service to approximately 3.9 million customers across northern Illinois, or 70 percent of the state’s population.
