Industrial Ethernet Infrastructure Design Seminar
Power management: Mission-critical network managers to gather in Orlando for hands-on training and inspiring seminars.
Energy mangement: Belden Inc., a provicer of signal transmission solutions for mission-critical applications, will host its 2016 Industrial Ethernet Infrastructure (IEI) Design Seminar on Oct. 10-13, 2016, in Orlando, Florida. The annual event offers the latest industrial networking insights and best practices for those who design or maintain mission-critical industrial Ethernet networks.
“If you only attend one event this year, check out this unique learning and networking opportunity. Our goal is to help you stay current on the latest trends, technologies and best practices for industrial networks, including how to protect against cybersecurity threats and take advantage of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT),” said John Herold, vice president, Belden Global Industrial Marketing. “We combine hands-on training with seminars and keynotes from industry experts to share everything you need to know about industrial networking and connectivity – from design, to redundancy, to security and more.”
Attendees will work and learn alongside Belden experts, customers, system integrators and partners in a unique and collaborative learning environment that includes presentations and live demonstrations.
New for 2016, Belden will introduce:
A new Cybersecurity track of sessions that focus on identifying common weaknesses, automating security and continuous monitoring, securing essential Windows systems, and learning how to implement measures, such as Defense in Depth and Deep Packet Inspection.
A hands-on industrial cable lab to offer insight into selecting the right cables, and practicing installing and testing patch cords and connectors.
A combined lecture and lab session to cover switch configuration, diagnostics and basic troubleshooting.
“Our IEI Design Seminar takes a practical, no-nonsense, tell-it-like-it-is approach,” added Herold. “We hear year-after-year how attendees value that our experts are approachable, available, and cover everything from introductory to advanced-level information.”
To make the event relevant for various roles and across industries, several tracks are available, including Design, Networking, Wireless, Physical Security and Cybersecurity. Attendees will build industry relationships and expertise alongside other network design engineers, machine builders, systems integrators, plant engineers, maintenance technicians, IT professionals, and professional engineering firms.
Limited in size to approximately 200 attendees, the atmosphere at the event is friendly and informal. Belden experts from around the world, representing the market-leading Hirschmann, GarrettCom, Tofino Security, Tripwire and Belden brands, will lead the sessions and be available to answer questions, give advice and help companies customize their approach – from design to implementation.
