Larson Electronics’ Magnalight.com adds tripod mounted explosion proof metal halide lights.

Kemp, Texas, April 29, 2010—Larson Electronics’ magnalight.com announced the addition of several new explosion proof metal halide lights for portable use in hazardous location areas. The new additions include a quadpod mounted 400 watt metal halide Class 1, Division 1 light and the dual fixture Class 1, Division 1 70 watt metal halide lights on a wheeled tripod.

OSHA requires the use of explosion proof lighting in confined spaces and other areas where there is a continuous presence of flammable vapors. UL certifies light fixtures as Class 1, Division 1 that are appropriate for these types of hazardous location areas. The EPL-24QP light fixture carries a Class 1, Division 1 rating and can be used in these types of hazardous location areas. Featuring stout tubular aluminum legs and non-slip aluminum foot pads, the EPL-24QP’s 24-inch diameter, 400-watt explosion proof metal halide light covers a large area and is very useful for maintenance efforts where permanent mounted explosion proof lighting is unavailable.

The EPL-TP-2X70 explosion proof tripod mounted metal halide light series offers a wheeled tripod or wheeled telescoping cart support for two 70-watt explosion proof metal halide lights. The EPL-TP-2X70 series is easily dismantled and moved from one location to another. The wheeled base enables operators to tip the 8-foot tall lights backwards and roll them into a new position.
