Scorpion MAG and StarLite MAG bifocal safety eyewear offer essential protection for aging workforce

Gateway Safety offers two styles of bifocal eye protection—Scorpion MAG and StarLite MAG; both eyewear styles are available in four diopter strengths.

Cleveland, Ohio, February 12, 2010—The Bureau of Labor Statistics has estimated that between 2002 and 2012, the number of workers 55 and older will grow by nearly 50%. That means 1 in 5 workers will be 55 or older. Many of those workers will need help with their vision. To meet the eye protection needs of this aging workforce, Gateway Safety offers two styles of bifocal eye protection—Scorpion MAG and StarLite MAG. Both eyewear styles are available in four diopter strengths: 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, and 2.5.

Bifocal eyewear allows workers needing a little extra help to clearly read instrumentation, work with small parts, or perform other close-at-hand tasks. StarLite MAG and Scorpion MAG eliminate the need to switch between regular safety glasses and reading glasses, a dangerous practice that can result in errors and eye injuries.

Scorpion MAG bifocal safety eyewear comes with many features that provide an extremely personalized fit. Featuring adjustable-length, ratcheting temples and a soft “fingertip” nosepiece, Scorpion MAG is comfortable enough for all-day use. The functional dual lens design looks great, but also has a venting system that helps minimize fogging. Lenses come in clear or gray. Meets or exceeds the ANSI Z87.2+ standard.

StarLite MAG features the extremely popular design of the original StarLite safety glasses. Offering great styling, comfort, and all-around impact protection, StarLite MAG is Gateway Safety’s most cost-effective bifocal eye protection. Lenses are available in clear, clear anti-fog, or gray. Meets or exceeds ANSI Z87.2+ standard.
