DBI-SALA, a Capital Safety brand, introduces the ExoFit XP Arc Flash Harness with Velcro that is designed for use by the utility industry in high voltage environments.
The harnesses incorporate an easy to don Velcro chest strap that gives the user a vest style harness with no metal above the waist. This design helps protect workers in arc flash environments and minimize the amount of hardware above the waist to reduce electrical conductivity. These Arc Flash Velcro Chest Strap harnesses give the utility industry an entirely new option for fall protection.
"The industry has come to know and trust our popular ExoFit XP harness for the comfort and reliability it offers their workers," states Nate Bohmbach, product marketing manager for soft goods with Capital Safety. "The new ExoFit XP Arc Flash Harness is a variation of it geared for use in arc flash environments. It is truly an excellent option for utility workers looking to reduce the amount of metal in their harnesses."
ExoFit XP harnesses offer maximum comfort, security and performance. The lightweight 7000lb Nylon web is accompanied by ergonomic Nomex/Kevlar shoulder and leg padding keeping the worker comfortable during long hours of work. The padding is removable for easy cleaning and inspection.
The ExoFit XP harness is based on the concept of a single piece of material constructed in the shape of an "X" that wraps around the worker for the ultimate in no-tangle donning and comfortable security. Quick connect buckles with leather insulators provide easy and secure connection with added conductivity protection. Dorsal options include a PVC coated D-ring or a dorsal web-loop for a choice in added protection from an arc flash. All models are up to 40 cal/cm2 arc flash resistant. Use with a DBI-SALA arc flash lanyard for complete security on the job.
The ExoFit XP Arc Flash Harness with Velcro meets or exceeds all applicable industry standards including ASTM F887-05, ANSI Z359 and OSHA.
