Dallas, TX -- Megger is offering a comprehensive introduction to substation best practices at a free-to-attend full-day event to be held at the Crowne Plaza Dallas/Addison Hotel in Addison TX, on Tuesday, September 10.

The event will be of particular interest to substation maintenance and test engineers, consulting engineers, power system maintenance managers and supervisors, and quality assurance engineers.

It will provide an outstanding opportunity for those attending to learn about the latest mathematical philosophies and engineering techniques in the use and practice of electrical test and measurement equipment, and will include detailed testing and application information as well as covering test troubleshooting and coordinated condition assessment. There will also be ample time for attendees to discuss their own substation test requirements and problems with the experts.

The main topics for the event include load and impedance testing of batteries, high-current testing of LV circuit breakers and reclosers, CT testing, HV circuit breaker testing, circuit breaker protection systems, power transformer insulation diagnostics in the frequency domain, and the administration and trending of test data.

The sessions have been formulated by and will be presented by Megger’s acknowledged experts in the field of substation testing, including Jammie Lee, who has over eight years experience in relay protection and control design, and Diego Robalino, who specializes in teaching the use of frequency response techniques for the analysis of and diagnostics of insulation systems and for electromechanical integrity of HV substation equipment

Megger’s one-day substation best practices tutorial event starts at 8:30 am. The formal sessions finish at 3:00 pm, but are followed by a discussion and hospitality period that extends to 5:00 pm. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. There is no charge for the event but places are strictly limited, so those interested in attending should contact Megger as soon as possible, either by emailing elsa.cantu@megger.com or by calling Elsa Cantu (214) 330-3539.
