The 22 MW Santa Catarina wind farm in Mexico is now operational. General Electric (GE), which provided the wind turbines, will operate and maintain the site under a five-year contract.

The wind power project uses eight GE 2.75-103 wind turbines. The plant is a joint venture between Comexhidro Viento, Next Energy de Mexico and Conduit Capital.

Energy generated by the wind farm would be the equivalent to the required energy needs of about 9,000 homes in the Monterrey, Mexico region.

The wind power project will supply power to six Mexico counties: Santa Catarina, Monterrey, Apodaca, Escobedo, Nicolás de los Garza and Los Ramones.
