Sparq, Nautilus, city of Lordsburg strike solar power deal

The 1.5 MW solar energy project will comprise of rooftop and ground mount solar installations for behind-the-meter applications

Sparq Inc., Nautilus Solar and the city of Lordsburg, New Mexico announced an agreement to supply solar energy to the city of the Lordsburg.

The 1.5 MW solar energy project will comprise of rooftop and ground mount solar installations for behind-the-meter applications at the city's wastewater treatment plant, well pumping station, fluoride plant, city hall and fire station. The systems are expected to go on-line late in the summer of 2014.

The solar power system is expected to reduce Lordsburg's energy costs by $3.6 million over the 20-year term.

Founded in 2006, Nautilus Solar is an independent solar power producer headquartered in Summit, New Jersey.
