Indiana Michigan Power says Unit 1 went back into service about noon Monday and Unit 2 is expected back online soon.
The company says it shut the generators early Saturday after excessive debris from large lake swells damaged several water screens. They remove debris carried in through three 16-foot cooling water intake tunnels for the plant in Berrien County's Lake Township.
The power company says it acted out of caution because it couldn't be sure of an adequate cooling water supply to the non-nuclear side of the plant.
Indiana Michigan Power says there was no interruption of service to customers.
