St. Louis, MO -- Energy management: With the new GroupCast Utility App, electric, water and gas utilities have a new way to improve their customer satisfaction scores while saving money at the same time.

The GroupCast Utility App transforms a customer’s iPhone or Android smartphone into a powerful communications tool capable of receiving and sending utility-related notifications. Customized for each GroupCast utility client that uses it, the app can allow customers to report outages and receive utility notifications.

“With this app, utilities can send targeted vegetation management notices, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, boil water alerts, and bill reminders to customers,” said Ms. Schatz. “Likewise, water main breaks, gas leaks, and downed power lines can be reported by customers as they happen, and consumers can notify the utility from wherever they are without having to call.”

Importantly, the GroupCast Utility App also complies with federal laws and makes life easier for utility call centers by allowing customers to control their notification preferences directly from their app. With a few taps on their smartphones, customers can opt out or opt in to the voice, text, and e-mail notifications sent by their utility.
