San Diego—Power Analytics has announced a major upgrade to its Paladin Live/SmartGrid Power Management System (SPMS). The new Paladin Live 4.0 incorporates a wide range of functionality and enhancements that more effectively aggregate, manage and present complex power information to control smart grids or “microgrids.”
“This release brings market and technology functionality together in a way that shows our unique domain expertise in power and energy,” said Power Analytics Chief Technology Officer Kevin Meagher. “The ability to dynamically analyze real-time power changes and impact on availability and energy cost is a cornerstone of Power Analytics’ value proposition and intellectual property portfolio. I am very excited about what this will mean to all of our served markets in data centers and smart grid/micro grid applications,” Meagher added.
The Paladin Live platform is the only real-time, model-validated solution capable of diagnosing electrical power problems or energy inefficiencies at their earliest stages, typically long before they can have costly or detrimental consequences.
Some of the major new features include an advanced user interface, diagnostics and storage capabilities, as well as enhancements to help datacenter operators identify and recapture stranded capacity that can save hundreds of thousands of dollars. New screen templates, an improved Crystal Reports-compatible reporting capability and real-time display of critical data loss are included.
“Accurate, forward-looking predictions about electrical power system health are the result of getting the right information, interpreting it correctly, and proving that it will produce the desired outcomes before acting on it,” said Mark A. Ascolese, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for Power Analytics. “Paladin Live is the only electrical power management and optimization platform that validates its diagnoses with data from the original design model, so everything in your power infrastructure operates precisely as it was intended to by the experts who designed it. It¹s like having their expertise, and yours, at work 24/7 at facilities worldwide.”
The Paladin Live 4.0 software provides “best in class” analytics software to the DCIM market and heavy industrial users of power. Another offering Paladin SmartGrid is an extension to Paladin Live that is designed to manage and control smart grids or 'micro grids' consisting of multiple pieces of equipment, facilities and energy sources. A third tool Paladin DesignBase is used by systems designers and engineers to create the detailed electrical models used by Paladin Live and Paladin SmartGrid.
