Screwdriver stores bits most commonly used by electricians
IDEAL introduces 5-in-1 non-conductive multi-bit screwdriver that meets ASTM F1505-94 and IEC 900 standards.
Sycamore, Ill., July 14, 2010—IDEAL Industries Inc., a provider of contractor tools and supplies, is addressing the safety concerns of electricians by offering a 5-in-1 non-conductive screwdriver that meets ASTM F1505-94 and IEC900 standards, as well as complies with OSHA 1910.335 regulations and NFPA 70E standards. Each screwdriver is UL and VDE listed and certified to 1000 Vac, 1500 Vdc for exceptional safety.
IDEAL insulated screwdrivers are cited to set the standard for safety, productivity and versatility. The high-visibility bright yellow handle, along with a permanently bonded orange insulation shaft, act as an "at-a-glance" safety system, letting electricians know they're using the right tool on or around a potentially live circuit. The included four bits are precision formed and hardened for heavy-duty workloads, and represent those most used by professional electricians: 1/4 inch slotted, 3/16 inch slotted, #1 Phillips, #2 Phillips and built-in 1/4 inch nutdriver. The handle's interior will store up to eight standard bits. A powerful magnet securely holds the bits in place.
Electricians are not the only ones who will benefit from this screwdriver. Technicians working on sensitive electronics, for example, require insulated tools to protect machinery as well as themselves, since an electrical discharge can destroy equipment.
Whenever possible, electricians should always de-energize lines and equipment prior to working on or around them.
