LEXINGTON, MS, JULY 8, 2019 -- Emerald Transformer, a leader in repairing, remanufacturing and recycling transformers and related products, is increasing its footprint in the Mississippi region by expanding its primary service territory from four to eight states. Due to sustained growth and a second successful year in the community, Emerald continues to invest in process improvements, facility upgrades and the development of its employees. The 115,000-square-foot plant currently employs 70 local employees, with plans to hire more.

“Emerald Transformer is fully committed to growing our business and creating new jobs in Mississippi,” said Stuart Prior, CEO and president of Emerald Transformer. “By delivering the highest quality customer care, specialty services and top-of-the-industry employee benefits, we will further enhance and expand our customer relationships in Holmes County and throughout the southeast.”

The Emerald Transformer Lexington plant is strategically accessible to the I-20 and I-55 corridors, enabling it to seamlessly serve customers throughout the region. This location also allows the plant to strategically support repair services for its sister facilities throughout the United States.

“We’re grateful to Emerald for choosing Lexington as their home and furthering their commitment to the community in Holmes County,” said Lexington Mayor Robin McCrory. “Greater access to employment opportunities close to home will make a big impact as our citizens won’t have to travel so far for work. Thank you to Emerald for creating an environment where both companies and people thrive.”

With the capability to serve customers across the nation, the company’s highly skilled professionals provide comprehensive services to investor-owned utilities, cooperatives, commercial and industrial sites, and municipalities. In addition to offering quality remanufactured transformers of all sizes, including substation power transformers, Emerald Transformer is one of the few companies in the U.S. that is qualified for the environmental processing and disposal of PCB-contaminated electrical equipment. Emerald also works with customers in the field, performing both technical services and decommissioning for equipment that is too large to transport.
