BRS Labs to showcase behavior-based SCADA analytics at DistribuTECH

Behavioral Recognition Systems, Inc. (BRS Labs) will conduct demonstrations of AISight, the artificial intelligence-based solution that teaches itself to recognize and alert on unexpected patterns within massive volumes of data, during the 2015 DistribuTECH Conference & Exhibition.

DistribuTECH, North America’s largest electricity transmission and distribution show, will take place February 3-5, 2015 in San Diego, California.

SCADA systems play a major role in the monitoring and control processes within the utilities industry, but these systems are not likely to monitor for small anomalies that could act as precursors to potential process, equipment, or safety incidents. These systems are also unable to detect unexpected activity that fall outside of predefined rules or correlation effects across multiple sensors.

Unlike traditional SCADA systems, AISight uses behavioral recognition technology to provide direct insight into the data between alarm limits, which is where the precursors to failure reside. AISight learns the normal operating behavior across all tags (sensors), developing an understanding of relationships between the tags in a process. This enables preventative measures to be taken that can mitigate costly and time-consuming issues.
