Survalent commissions SCADA system for Santee Electric Cooperative

Santee Electric Cooperative (SEC) was formed in the late 1930's and is a not-for-profit electric cooperative

Survalent Technology, a provider of smart grid solutions for control rooms, commissioned a new Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for Santee Electric Cooperative, South Carolina.

Santee Electric Cooperative (SEC) was formed in the late 1930's and is a not-for-profit electric cooperative. SEC's service area includes parts of Claredon, Florence, Georgetown, and Williamsburg counties in South Carolina, with 40,000 members scattered over 5,000 miles of line in the four-county area.

The new system features Survalent's open-architecture system based on Windows Server. It includes several of Survalent's open system applications, including: WorldView, SCADA Explorer, Command Sequencing, Event Data Recording, IED Wizard and Control Panel, SCADA Add-In, Remote Alarm Annunciation, Power Factor Control, Voltage Reduction, MultiSpeak, SCADA Replicator and WebSurv.

"Santee Electric Cooperative selected Survalent to replace their older SCADA system to move to a more modern system with smart grid features," states Steve Strauss, vice president of sales for the Eastern U.S. "Also important was Survalent's outstanding software support reputation which is consistently regarded as best in the industry. We are pleased to have Santee Electric Cooperative as a customer."
